What is Holistic Psychology?

Holistic psychology is a way of viewing the individual in terms of his or her mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health, as well as how they interact with the world around them. It also takes into consideration the individual's environment and culture in order to gain a more complex and comprehensive understanding of how to best help him or her attain optimal wellness. Alternative and complementary therapies may be used in order to foster an integrative healing environment. A wide variety of techniques and modalities fall under holistic psychology, ranging from nature-therapy to art and music making, somatic movement and dance, nutrition and natural health, to contemplative practices.
